Major Art Update - Style Overhaul
Hi everyone!
After careful deliberation, I have decided to redirect the aesthetic design of SYNCH/RUSH.
The initial character design was based on robotic personas, in this case a robot ninja. However, development time constraints and production challenges meant that I have switched the art to a geometric and simplistic design.
I feel this is the best decision forward as it allows for visual look that is more consistent in style and quality while also more efficient for time.
Here are some of the initial concepts I came up with:
After further conceptualizing, I have decided to go with the designs:
These are the current designs for the player sprites. Blue is for player 1, red for player 2.
I aimed to achieve a simplistic but expressive style that gives the sprite a sense of personality. In this sense I attempted to create a little ball of speed.
In the game itself, the sprite will be helped with numerous post-processing effects to push the feeling of momentum. Additionally, I hope to have a selection of small cosmetic additions (hats, etc) that will add a degree of customization.
Please look forward to more updates, and take care!
