Playtest Review - November 2020
Hi everyone!
Recently SYNCH/RUSH was presented at a playtesting event. Many people were able to play it and I have received some really valuable feedback which I will look into implementing moving forward.
I was very excited to see that people really enjoyed the core concept of controlling the same character in this auto run platformer. Furthermore people praised the overall feel of the momentum and jumping which I am very pleased with.
The dash down part of the 3 jump rotation core mechanic was overall deemed as detrimental to the flow of the game. It's clear that people have a tendency to "spam" the jump button under the pressure of avoiding all the obstacles. Consequently they would dash down often when not intending to, which confused them and interrupted their flow process.
Alongside this a thought was raised to allow for player input even when not being the active controller of the character. Something beneficial to engage with in the moments the other play is jumping around.
These were the two most outstanding pieces of feedback, and I am very happy to have received them as I already have plans to address these. Stay tuned for these developments!
